About EduSlice
What is this EduSlice thing?
EduSlice is a web-based system that is designed to help students organize educational data. The system also allows a student to quickly create a MLA formatted bibliograpy, print it, save it, and edit it at a later date. EduSlice also includes a keyword manager that facilitates the creation of categories which to organize your keywords according to subject. The keywords can then be easily sorted, edited and searched from a simple user interface. EduSlice also includes a note manger which allows you to quickly save notes or info that you require at a later date. The general access forum also allows you to ask questions about school work and have them answered by the community here at EduSlice.
Who funds/runs this website?
EduSlice was was soley developed by me (Adam Brimo) and is also run by me. As for funding, it doesnt take much money to start a website, only time. (of which I spent over 60 hours designing, writing, and testing this site) EduSlice is hosted by my web hosting company located at aWeb.com.au. This site does not contain any ads nor do I use any of its services for financial gain.
Why make a website for this purpose?
I spend many hours everyday browsing the internet and reading public forums, the least common type of website I have seen is one that helps students manage educational data. I have previously developed a bibliography creator seen here, as well as a keyword manager which I use to my classes at school. Both applications where originally developed for my personal benefit and to make educational life just a tad bit easier. However it seemed like a waste to keep something like that to myself so I spent more time developing a public version of those tools, as well as others and placed them all in this site. Enjoy!
How can I help or contribute to this site?
The easiest way to contribute is just to post in the forum and help answer other people's questions. If you want to help financially you can buy web hosting or web design services from my company, aWeb.com.au, or you may donate money through paypal to accounts@brimonet.com.
What are the benifits of registering?
Registering on this site gives you access to all the features mentioned above as well as your own secure account for storing and organizing all your keywords, notes, and bibliographies. Once registered you will also be able to post in the forum for assistance in educational matters.
I like the forum, can I put it on my website?
As a matter of fact, Yes! It seems that many people like our forum so we made a version available for public download and use. It is released under the GNU General Public License which means you can use it and modify it but may never sell it or use it for commercial gain without my permission. It is available for download at labs.aweb.com.au, Enjoy!
